Sofía Romero

Originally from Mexico, Sofía Romero is currently a Master’s student of the Genome Science and Technology program at The University of British Columbia. She works in the Foster Lab, which specializes in proteomics and honey bees. Sofía’s research project focuses on finding alternatives to antibiotics to fight against American foulbrood. In particular, she is working with naturally occurring antimicrobial peptides and commensal bacteria of the adult honey bee.
