Mckaela Hobday is a doctoral student in the department of Entomology at Washington State University, studying under the direction of Dr. Priya Basu. With a lifelong passion for beekeeping, Mckaela’s research interests are broad, with a primary focus on understanding and mitigating stressors that impact honey bee health. Her doctoral research is centered around investigating the epidemiology of European foulbrood to mitigate this disease and benefit stakeholders.
