Julie St. Amant

Julia is a first-year Master student in Entomology and Nematology, University of Florida.  Her B.S. is in Biology, University of Florida. minors in Entomology & Nematology, and Wildlife Ecology & Conservation.  Her long-term goal is to provide beekeepers with information about the distribution and impact that the amoeba may have on their colonies, while creating standardized methods for future research on the relationship between honey bee health and this pathogen.  Her focus is to create repeatable and effective methods for working with the amoeba in a laboratory setting. Standardized methods allow other researchers around the world to answer more complex questions about the amoeba’s impact on honey bee health and colony loss.
