Stephen Onayemi

Stephen Onayemi is a Master's student studying honey bee health and management at Washington State University (WSU) in the Department of Entomology. He is advised by Dr. Brandon Hopkins and Dr. Steve Sheppard. Stephen earned a B.S. in Crop Production and Protection from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria.

At WSU, his master's research work focuses on the influence of elevated CO2 on Varroa mites in overwintered honey bee colonies. He is currently working on two side projects on honey bees. The first research focuses on increasing commercial storage and stocking rates of honey bee queens using indoor storage during the winter and summer months. The second research focuses on the influence of increased CO2 on virus levels during honey bee colonies' indoor storage.
