Catherine Crosier

Catherine Crosier is a first-year master’s student at North Dakota State University studying under Dr. Rogan Tokach. Her masters work focuses on identifying management strategies for the control of Varroa mites in migratory commercial colonies during their time in North Dakota. She will be exploring the performance of Varroa mite IPM regimens and newly registered products through large scale, applied field studies. Catherine has gained invaluable experience through her past roles as a honeybee health field specialist for the Bee Informed Partnership, field specialist for the Bee Health Hub at UC Davis run by Dr. Elina Niño, and assistant extension coordinator for Dr. David Tarpy’s lab at NC State University. She got her start in the bee world as an undergraduate researcher and later NYS Beekeeper Tech Team technician in Dr. Scott McArt’s lab at Cornell University. Catherine is passionate about working with beekeepers to address challenges and contribute to the sustainability of the industry.
