Alexandria (Alex) Payne is a PhD candidate in the lab of Dr. Juliana Rangel at Texas A&M University studying the disease ecology of honey bees. Her research incorporates aspects of virology, ecology, and honey bee biology to better understand the interactions between honey bees and their associated pathogens. She received her B.S. from Texas A&M where she double majored in Bioenvironmental Sciences and Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences. She worked as an undergraduate research assistant in Dr. Juliana Rangel’s lab before deciding to continue her education with Dr. Rangel and pursue a PhD. She is expected to graduate in May 2022.
